Whats New to Las Vegas in 2014

Sin-sational Changes in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has many new and exciting developments for those who have not visited Sin City in a while. There are new acts, concert halls, the world’s tallest observation wheel, shopping centers and much more to see and do and many new places to eat when it’s time to sit down for a great meal.

The biggest attraction is the new High Roller observation wheel, which edges the Singapore Flyer as the world’s tallest and takes up to 40 passengers per pod on an about one-hour round trip of the Vegas skyline. Just opened in April, the High Roller is located east of Harrah’s and has a planned shopping plaza under construction and ample parking available.

For those who enjoy nightclubs, the MGM Grand recently opened a new five-story club called Hakkasan that features two of the world’s most popular DJs, Tiesto and Calvin Harris. And the former Rum Jungle in Mandalay Bay has reopened as the Light nightclub, featuring more electronic dance music for those who prefer the thumping bass-backed techno music played to incessant strobe lights.

Two of the more popular shows that have opened on the Strip for 2-14 are Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood and Panda! at the Venetian. Britney Spears entertains her fans with a 90-minute show that leaves singing her most popular tunes on their way out. And Panda! is an Asian acrobatic team offering many exciting stunts and performances for audiences. Over at the Cosmopolitan, the new Rose, Rabbit, Lie vaudeville show is drawing very favorable reviews with its impromptu performances from its continually changing lineup of artists.

And those who prefer their music up close, the Brooklyn Bowl in the newly opened Linq offers an array of outstanding national touring acts as well as some of the best bowling lanes in Las Vegas. The Brooklyn Bowl is a new sister property of the venue by the same name in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Those who like to visit Fremont Street will find many exciting changes. The new zip line is even higher this year. And the area east of the Fremont Street Experience is experiencing a local renaissance of its own with the opening of popular destinations like Backstage Bar and Billiards and Container Park, which offers retail stores and dining. Other recently opened attractions near downtown include the Mob Museum and the Smith Center, which offers off-Broadway productions and other outstanding live acts.
